There are two reasons we’ve been around forever. We are passionate about what we do and why we do it, and we embrace the credit union philosophy of people helping people.

Our Story

Established in 1933 to provide financial services to employees of Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company, Northwestern Mutual Credit Union has grown to become a full-service financial institution. But unlike other financial institutions, we are proud to be a not-for-profit cooperative organized solely to meet the needs of our members – who are also owners of our credit union. Rather than paying dividends to shareholders, earnings are returned to our members in the form of higher yields on savings, better loan rates, fewer and lower fees, and additional services.
